Wow, what an excellent weekends racing. Round 2 of the SARDA On Road Electric Nationals was held at Meyerton RC raceway this past weekend. Racers from all over the country attended the event. A total of 91 entries over 5 classes made sure that the crowds were entertained the whole weekend.
Firstly I would like to thank Henry Ogden and his team from Meyerton raceway for preparing the surface and making sure we all had lots of fun at the event. Then to Danie Botha and the rest of the SARDA committee for making sure that everything ran as smooth as possible.

Saturday: Qualifiers
Here we saw a few new faces making themselves known and coming out of the blue to take some top spots in the A-Mains of all the classes. Darren Duggan (XRAY T4) had an amazing drive to claim 4th place in both 13.5T and modified A-mains. But top honours has to go to Shaun Schutte that claimed TQ in both Touring modified and 13.5T in his Brand new XRAY T4's driven for the first time at a National event. His cars were railed and he broke the lap record not once but twice over the weekend. A 16.3s lap had all of us amazed and Anderton Smith (XRAY T4) was the only guy who could answer that but 16.5s was the best he could do.

Sunday: Mains
On race day we saw top driving from all the XRAY drivers with all the A-Main wins going to Team XRAY. Touring Modified had a few surprises with some of the Big names not making the A-Main and crashes here and there saw Heine Herholdt creep up from 6th place to 3rd for a well deserved podium place. Andre Greeff (XRAY) also performed very well under pressure in 17.5T Touring, after he TQ'd on Saturday Ashley Hurley kept him busy from the start of the race till the end but Andre eventually grabbed the overall win.
